Radikalere Richtungen wie der ontologische Solipsismus vertreten sogar die Ansicht, dass es so etwas wie fremdes Bewusstsein gar nicht gebe. Nur das eigene Ich sei wirklich, die Außenwelt und andere fremde "Ichs" werden hier zu Bewusstseinsinhalten ohne eigene Existenz.
